Descripción y detalle de las actividades**Packaging Engineer - México**In this role the packaging engineer will design, test, and implement packaging designs for new product development projects, review and improve existing packaging designs to enhance performance and customer experiences, and evaluate cost savings initiatives by working with internal and external resources and packaging suppliers to meet project requirements.**Responsibilities**The responsibilities for this role include:- Oversee and manage the complete packaging development process, including:- Design ideation- Prototype development- Performance testing- Part creation and set up- Process implementation- Manage multiple projects simultaneously- Develop comprehensive test plans utilizing industry standards (ISTA, ASTM, ISO, etc.) and internally developed standards to ensure that packaging exceeds customer specifications- Work cross functionally with global suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, and sourcing on all projects- Participate on project teams to deliver new products to market or improve product quality- Work with the manufacturing department to ensure that the packaging designs are optimized for manufacturability- Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials, and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.- Identify and implement cost savings initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.Experiência y requisitos**Requirements**:The education and experience requirements for this role include:- A degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Process Engineering- Solid reading/writing/speaking English skills to be able to communicate to all levels of the organization- Ability to manage work according to established project timelines- Knowledge and understanding of packaging design test standards (ISTA, ASTM, ISO, etc.)- Knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, 3D AutoCAD- Experience creating part specification and package assembly instructions- Demonstrated experience implementing change that yielded substantially lower cost, better space utilization, higher product flow, and increased capacity without compromising quality.- Demonstrated experience working on improving flow on existing packaging line or setting up a packaging line- Proven interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills (including statistical analysis) to develop new packaging designs or processes in a timely fashion.- Technical writing- General computer skills Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SmartSheetsAn individual will excel in this role if they also possess:- Capital project justification experience- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma problem solving techniques, Toyota Production System).Beneficios- Beneficios de acuerdo a la LFT- Seguro de vida- Seguro de gastos médicos- Transporte- Caja de ahorro- Servicios medicos en planta- Comedor**Número de vacantes** 1**Área** Ingeniería**Contrato** Permanente**Modalidad** Presencial**Turno** Diurno**Jornada** Tiempo Completo**Horario**- Tiempo completo- Turno Matutino- Lunes a viernes**Estudios** Carrera con título profesional**Inglés**Hablado: Avanzado, Escrito: Avanzado**Disponibilidad p. viajar** No
