You will be responsible for delivery of business unit specific projects through the APQP process. You will own and manage the NPI Project Plan by collaborating with process partners and team members.**JOB RELATED STATISTICS**:Indeterminate**JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:- Support the program manager in establishing program budget, tracking spend, alerting of over-spend, creating schedules. Able to fill in for program manager in leading stand-up meetings and cross-functional BML planning.- Assembling/Reviewing business cases for project requested by documenting requirements, performing financial reviews and defining the project success criteria.- Manage overall NPI program scheduling and activity tracking for specific NPI programs, including the development of master detailed project management schedule and determination of resource requirements assuring program dates can be obtained.- Update the project management plan, track progress, identify potential problems early, and resolve problems with the team in a timely manner.- Schedule meetings and facilitate meetings as necessary.- Document the activities and issues that surface in the meetings and distribute this to internal and external team members.- Track progress on NPI Gateway checklist items and compile the supporting documentation- Develop with NPI Team leader presentation for Gateway Reviews- Assist NPI Team leader with the timely creation of key NPI documentation - Customer and Business Requirements, Program and Technical Specifications, etc.- Work with NPI Buyers to ensure that correct parts and quantities are available for all phases of engineering builds, pre-production builds, and first months of production.- Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency of the NPI Team by identifying and recommending new approaches, policies, and standard operating procedures.- Resolve internal issues by assuming ownership of problems, strategizing with affected departments, and selecting and implementing solutions.- Ensure smooth and timely handoff to production at product launch.**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering curriculum- Experience - 1+ years of hydraulics industry- Familiarity with gear pumps & valves component suppliers and manufacturing processes- The ability to effectively develop and manage project plans from concept to production- Ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and process partners- Fluent English**TOP CANDIDATES WILL HAVE**:- Experience in Project management and NPI methodology.- Strong analytical skills & experience in the introduction of new components from concept to production.- Hands on Creo/NX, Tolerance Stack-up, and GD&T.- Previous experience to resource components from other facilities.- The ability to work/lead multiple projects simultaneously and to make sound priority decisions.- A sense of urgency balanced with a strong commitment to quality.**BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE**:This position requires knowledge of various engineering, manufacturing and /or maintenance standards and practices and various Caterpillar systems. The ability to utilize a variety of computer software packages is also necessary.
