(Cen) Advisor Public Affairs

The Public Affairs Advisor supports the definition and implementation of global advocacy strategies and initiatives and acts as an in-house policy expert on key issues relevant to the company, with an active approach to relationship building and identifying opportunities for CEMEX. The PA Advisor also establishes and maintains positive working relationships with the Public Affairs network and internal stakeholders and, externally, acts as one of the key contacts with global think tanks and business associations. The PA Advisor works under the supervision of a manager.**Main Responsibilities**:- Support the team in the definition and implementation of global advocacy strategies.- Act as the main point of contact with global think tanks and business associations- Closely monitor global political and regulatory developments across our regions.- Support in drafting responses to key issues development in the sector.- Produce policy content for briefing materials, speeches, and articles for management.- Coordinate briefings, speeches, and presentations for top executives.- Develop advocacy and engagement materials and assist with the communication strategy and production of materials for publication.- Create Public Affairs protocols and guidelines for our BUs.- Monitor stakeholder engagement practices and performance in the countries against targets and industry best practices.- Support and ensure the Public Affairs Network’s constant training.- Support in the production of the Integrated Report and position papers.- Coordinate the delivery of communication materials to support the Public Affairs network such as relevant articles, briefings, infographics, and toolkits.- Coordinate external suppliers, consultants and collaboration with internal areas.- Provide project management support in engagement and liaison with third parties or agencies that support the strategy.- Support in coordinating the engagement with global think tanks and business associations to proactively advance the global agenda in specific regions through high-level engagements and targeted projects.**Position Challenges**:- High-intensity coordination of key events (ie. Davos, COP) with aggressive timelines.- Influencing and coordinating other areas- Hard deadlines for preparing briefings and preparing senior executives for external engagements**Qualifications**:- Must be fluent in English and Spanish and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills- Must have strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving abilities- Must have experience in online research and high computer literacy skills to work on complex spreadsheets and dashboards- A Bachelor’s degree in international or public relations, journalism, economics, communications, political science, public administration or related fields.- A master’s degree or 3-5 years of experience in a directly related field.**Internal/External Relations**:Internal: Public Affairs Regional Heads, Public Affairs BU Heads, Social Impact, ERM, Corporate Affairs, Communications, Sustainability, Operations & Technology, Energy.External: External public affairs consultants, Business associations and think tanks, Design and copywriting agencies.**CEMEX Diversity and Inclusion Statement**:At CEMEX, we recognize the diversity of the world in which we live and in which we do business.
