You will be engaged, challenged and inspired by our team to deliver leading thermal technologies that positively impact lives around the world.PRODUCT ENGINEER IMPACT and OPPORTUNITYFunctions as primarily a design and development position with total responsibility for developing and launching into production heated, cooled, and vented based systems for our customers.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesEnsure that product is designed within various industry quality standards according to applicable specification in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner while following the APQP processAct as a technical liaison between customer and project managementInitiate, review, and release design FMEA’s, DVP&R, BOM and drawingsOrganize manufacturing and industrial engineering related documentation for new and existing productsAttend, support, and participate in engineering development meetings, program launches with the customerAssist in the establishment of system requirements and specifications using correct engineering and technical disciplinesAssure that project timing, performance, and cost targets are metDevelop designs based off customer requirements and specificationsEstablish a design review team, lead design reviews and audit design progress through product life cycleAssure product testing is completed, analyzed and that results are documented and communicatedSupport production and quality departments with design related issues through product validationLead product improvement and cost reduction efforts through the product life cycleContinuously improve existing product design and internal processes to increase customer satisfactionOther duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial EngineeringMinimum of 3 years of experience in the automotive industryWorking knowledge of FMEA’s, DVP&RWorking knowledge and ability with Auto-Cad and drawing releasesCAD Experience Using Any Of The Following PackagesIDEAS, Catia, Pro-E, UniGraphicsStrong communication and business relations skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with automotive interiorsKnowledgeable of the APQP processAutomotive project management experienceThermal Management experienceProven record of accomplishment with product development that launched into high volume productionWorking knowledge of test procedures and data analysisGeneral knowledge on product manufacturing of similar productsGentherm is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
