Our company is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA, and has a global network of more than 50,000 employees in 25 countries.We are currently looking for a **Product/Applications Engineer** for our team.**Position Summary**:Design, develop and release safety restraint (or related) products to meet objectives of management and customers in accordance with government and customer specifications. Organizes technical projects, evaluates alternatives and initiates activities as necessary to meet project objectives on time and within budget.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:- The duties and responsibilities outlined in the job description are to be used as a guideline and are not meant to be all-inclusive of the essential functions of the position. Other duties may be assigned as necessary._- Organizes technical projects (program requests, cost estimates, program plans, etc.), evaluates alternatives and initiates activities as necessary to meet project objectives. Reports on progress and workload status.- Work with team members to coordinate projects from design through production start-up, including prototype build, testing and establishment of specifications.- Responsible for supporting all technical base processes including: PRG, ESI, VA/VE, benchmarking, commodity management, and STP/Application transition.- Provides technical direction to design, testing, and model shop personnel.- Communicates with non-engineering team members regarding costs, quality, purchasing, and tooling issues.- Documents technical aspects of assigned projects and ensures that data is properly retained.- Visits customers with Sales or Senior Engineering personnel, on an as needed basis.- Recommends design approaches and solutions to technical problems, directly to customers on routine matters and obtains assistance from peers, other departments and engineering management on critical issues.- Communicates customer and competitor activities that may impact on the operations of safety restraint systems to engineering management.- Responsible for monitoring engineering changes and responding to them in the assigned periods in the different platforms or electronic portals in which our clients distribute or notify these changes in the assigned programs.- Responsible for the creation and release of EO's (Engineering order) for updating drawings and/or part list and/or color charts and/or finish color chart.- Responsible for generating DWO's (drawing work order) for updating assembly drawings and/or components.- Responsible for the preparation of DR's for the specific follow-up of the program during its maturation.- Responsible for conducting frequent drawing and part list reviews with production plants and sample shop for current and new production schedules.- Responsible for providing support to sample shop and production plants for pilot production runs in new assigned programs.- Responsible for the review of the master samples in the plant for the assigned programs.- Maintain constant communication with the plant and corporate work teams, as well as attend the scheduled meetings for the proper development of the assigned programs.- Give support and follow-up to the assigned continuous improvement activities.**Required Experience**:- +2 years with Product Engineering, Product Design and Engineering Changes.- +2 years working with IATF 16949, TAS, ISO 14001.- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.- A minimum of 2 years of related product design/engineering experience.- Prior experience in occupant safety restraints or automotive interiors.**Required Knowledge/Skills**:- Strong technical ability with knowledge of materials and manufacturing and assembly processes.- Control Plan, Standard Inspection, Data Sheets, Plan Interpretation.- Advanced knowledge of the Core Tools.- Experience working with Solidworks/AutoCAD/NX/CATIA.- Strong teamwork, computing, communication and organization skills.- Ability to directly interact with customers while providing a professional image.- Advanced level of English (the enough to handle a professional business conversation with colleagues and managers from another countries).Application Question(s):- ¿Cuál es tu nível de inglés oral y escrito?
