Quoting Engineer

Position Responsibilities:- Generate preliminary engineering analysis used for costing and quoting- Communicate with sales and engineering departments to obtain engineering documentation to facilitate the cost estimating process- Review designs with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure consistent understanding of products and processes required for delivery of new business- Generate and distribute necessary drawings and documents to appropriate vendors for quoting via the Purchasing department- Create cost models capturing key elements of product and process cost to generate business case for leadership decisions on quoting new projects- Review and update previous quotations for changes in program, particularly in support of quoting customer-driven changes- Support commercial negotiations by reviewing operational costs and creating/updating cost breakdowns for customer reviewQualifications:- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience- English language fluency required (verbal and written)- Create or translate solid models, 2D drawings and/or Bills-of-Material (BOMs) for distribution to outside vendors to obtain quotes for material, finished goods or services- High Proficiency with Microsoft Excel- Experience with interior/exterior lighting products a plus (specifically molding, painting, metalization, hard coating, anti-fog)- Ability to facilitate cross-functional team of Engineering, Manufacturing, purchasing, Sales and/or Finance to ensure timely completion of requests for quotation- Proven ability to overcome obstacles and get results- Experience in automotive industry and the fast pace required in responding to customer RFQsMethode Electronics es una empresa que ofrece igualdad de oportunidades.
