Purpose Statement: The Business Intelligence Developer II has responsibilities to design, develop, implement, test, maintain and enhance Business Intelligence Solutions. This involves architecting, acquiring, transforming, modeling, structuring, and visualizing data in order to create data warehouses and cubes.Also, the BI Developer will work very closely with BI Architect, BI Analysts and customers, internal and external, to understand business requirements to make sure the BI solution will work properly in the enterprise BI standard environment and will promote a culture of managed self-service.Key Job Accountabilities:- Represent the BI team through interaction with business users and BI analysts to gather reporting and analytic requirements. Helps translating business requirements into Business Intelligence technical specifications- Collaborate on architecting the BI solution from a logical and physical point of view.- Collaborate on data modeling to meet business requirements- Develop enterprise level processes for the Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) of data, from internal and external sources, into the data warehouse and cubes.- Perform unit and system level testing of BI solution.- Create migration scripts in order to move the complete BI solution from Development to QA and from QA to production once the change management process has been approved and completed.Additional Accountabilities:- Recommend and implement data quality improvement processes and initiatives- Suggest Key Performance Measures and Indicators that drive operational excellence- Suggest and provide input to new technology opportunities that will have an impact on the enterprise wide BI systems by participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations.- Consistently follow and adhere to the IT’s change management process- Develop BI solutions that are reliable, scalable, flexible and safeguard data,- Collaborate and liaise with BI analysts, Database administrators (DBA), systems administrators (SA), business systems analysts (BSA) and technical systems analyst (TSA) to make sure the BI system works and performs as efficiently as possible.- Additional duties as assigned.Education/Experience Qualifications:- A minimum of a(n) _Associates_ is required; a(n) _Bachelors _is preferred- Proficiency in English and preferred to also speak/understand Spanish- 3-5 years data analysis and business intelligence experience- 3-5 years of experience with ETL technologies- 3-5 years of experience as a BI Developer or comparable experience preferred.An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.Other Qualifications:- Proficiency of Microsoft SQL Server, Integration Services (SSIS) and Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)- Proficiency of data discovery visualization tools, i.e., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and others.- Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, cubes and data marts- Knowledge of SQL, R, Python and other programming languages are an asset- Knowledge of MDX and DAX to work with cubes- Knowledge of predictive models and machine learning algorithms is a plus- Advanced understanding of change and release management practices and tools, such as TFS- Excellent leadership and communication skills / self-starter- Keen attention to detail, analytical skills- Desire to learn new and emerging technologies- Ability to think strategically and critically, innovate- Good planning and organizing skillsWork Environment:- The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.- This document does not represent a contract of employment and is not intended to capture every possible assignment the incumbent could be asked to perform._
