PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). The Manufacturing Project Engineer 3 is responsible for technical expertise, guidance and coordination in development of major manufacturing projects for Undercarriage, working with internal / external suppliers to support / improve manufacturing productivity and cost effectiveness. This individual will report directly to the Undercarriage Value Chain Engineering Manager and work transversally to coordinate and implement footprint solutions to optimize Undercarriage supply globally. Responsibilities Implementation of major systems and the coordination of those systems within the total plant Provides direction, guidance, and coordination to other manufacturing and strategic supply chain personnel in a continuous effort to improve manufacturing productivity Work with suppliers (both internal and external) in the development of large projects, which ensure the most efficient and cost-effective systems of operations to produce quality products Actively engage with suppliers to analyze their current or proposed process designs to determine feasibility of using existing designs or modifying the designs to improve process Ensures Engineering, Purchasing, and shop personnel both at Caterpillar and suppliers are involved in the approval process so that sound decisions are made which improve manufacturing processes, quality and / or reduce costs Use knowledge gain through years of experience to explain to suppliers the tooling, dies, fixtures, etc., needed to improve processes Coordinates various existing systems and operations with new systems and operations to ensure compatibility and directs others to modify systems accordingly to implement total package Provide leadership in the implementation of integrated technologies within the factory Develop individual presentations on all integration projects and prepares and establishes priorities for cost effectiveness Perform liaison duties with various functional areas to promote smooth transition of new and revised corporate and plant systems and operations Adheres to established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties Manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others, challenged to quickly and correctly identify problems Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time Basic Requirements 5-7 years previous experience as either a Manufacturing or Project Engineer Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical expertise Experience leading teams, preferably large-scale projects involving cross functional teams (NCI, investment projects, etc.) with experience in project management Strong business acumen Analytical ability as well as oral and written communication skills and thorough knowledge concerning the capabilities of both domestic and foreign suppliers Experience in various of specific fields of manufacturing such as forging, heat treat, machining, automation, manufacturing technology, etc. Understanding of product design to combine with process design to provide for improved manufacturability of parts and major components Ability to travel domestically and internationally up-to 25% of the time Fluent in both Spanish and English Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position Our team embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model.
