**Category Buyer**Our Category Buyer will be responsible for key activities including direct material procurement, supplier quoting and selection, driving cost savings initiatives, generating purchase orders, and providing general sales support.**Responsibilities**- Negotiate with suppliers- Identify and pursue savings opportunities and strategic projects:- Material cost analysis- Supply chain evaluations- Economic trend and industry factor assessments- Meet defined savings goals- Improve commercial terms such as:- Payment terms- Payment upon receipt- Monthly payment options- Incoterms- Title transfers- Ensure supplier selection process is completed in a timely manner- Collaborate in the coordination/support of business transfers between Aptiv plants- Prevent supplier delivery disruptions related to:- Tool movements- Supplier relocations- Supplier replacements- Maintain and update various reports and presentations (supplier data, category status, etc.)- Comply with Aptiv’s purchasing policies and procedures and maintain cross-functional collaboration- Supervise a Buyer Assistant (when applicable)- Conduct supplier workshops**Education & Experience**:- University degree in Commercial, Engineering, or Supply Chain-related fields- 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar purchasing or procurement role**Skills**:- Proven experience in:- Strategic purchasing- Supplier negotiation- Problem-solving- Prioritizing multiple tasks- Program and project management- Proficiency in:- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)- SAP or equivalent ERP systems- Strong teamwork and communication skills (Spanish & English)**Aptiv Rewards and Advantages**- Competitive compensation with bonus potential- Learning and development opportunities- Discounts with various manufacturers and retailers- Recognition programs for innovation and excellence- Opportunities to contribute to the community- Meaningful work that makes a difference- Relocation assistance may be available- Tuition reimbursement- Paid time off (vacation, parental leave, etc.)Aptiv is an equal employment opportunity employer.
