There’s a huge opportunity to develop, explore and thrive during our next chapter._**What you’ll do**The Software Development Engineer in Test, primarily an individual contributor who will pair with other Software Engineers, Leads, and Architects to design, build, test and deploy software test automation solutions. The role will be involved in analysing requirements, building and implementing test automation software solutions and testing components.The Software Development Engineer in Test must strive to gain as much understanding and exposure to the development stack, test automation tools, libraries and frameworks as well as the domains they are working in. Individuals in this role will working under the guidance of more experienced team members.- Spending a majority of time designing, building efficient, reusable, and reliable code.- Develops and implements unit testing, automated integration testing, automated acceptance testing and automated E2E testing solutions.- Own the delivery of assigned tasks while operating independently but escalating issues and questions in a timely manner.- Ensures unit testing, automated integration testing, automated acceptance testing and automated E2E testing activities performed are aligned and in adherence with related AZ IT standards and practices.- Adhere to the established AstraZeneca lifecycle methodology.- Responsible for design, development, configuration, and documentation of software test automation components.- Teaches other engineers test automation.**Essential for the role**- Prior software development experience using languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.- Experience in modern software development languages and patterns.- Hands-on experience researching automation software/frameworks on their own and building automation solutions based on their findings.- Experience automating tests within a sprint or iteration.- Experience working in Agile teams (Scrum or Kanban).- Higher education qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, comparable program, or relevant work experience.- Strong ability and willingness to learn new technical skills and platforms- Demonstrate good communication skills and facilitation skills with the ability to work with others across remote geographies to achieve objectives- Strong problem-solving skills- Ability to work and collaborate with people across the globe with diverse cultures and backgrounds.**Desirable for the role**- Demonstrated passion for learning, innovating, and delivering valuable software to people.- Hands-on experience doing and implementing CI/CD.- Agile Engineering Practices- Experience creating GitHub Actions.- Experience setting up and deploying to AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases- In our dynamic environment, be supported by the brightest minds working together side by side.
