Our technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential._**Title and Summary**Counsel North LACAs Counsel or Legal Manager, you will provide strategic legal support across Mastercard’s operations in the North LAC region. You will work closely with business teams, external counsel, regional, local and global legal colleagues to manage legal risk, negotiate contracts, align process, lead projects and support regulatory and business compliance. This role requires a proactive, business-oriented legal professional with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.Key Responsibilities- Act as day-to-day legal advisor to business clients, including sales, delivery, product, and policy - regulatory teams.- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, vendor, fintech, and co-brand partnerships.- Support corporate governance and subsidiary management, including board documentation and secretarial duties.- Lead or support legal aspects of strategic initiatives, including litigation, M&A, joint ventures, and regulatory filings.- Provide legal guidance on employment and labor, and entity structuring across jurisdictions such as Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.**Qualifications**:- Law degree and license to practice in relevant jurisdiction.- 8-10 years of legal experience, preferably in a mix of law firm and in-house roles.- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with ability to simplify complex legal concepts.- Experience in financial services, payments, or technology sectors is a plus.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.- Fluent in Spanish and English.All About You- Business-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate legal risks and business needs.- Strong team player.- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.- High integrity, discretion, and commitment to Mastercard’s values.- Willingness to travel within the region as needed.**Corporate Security Responsibility**All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:- Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;- Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;- Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and- Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
