About HireRight:Overview:**Sr Systems Engineer (Linux)****Remote / Mexico City**This position will be heavily focused on all aspects of our Linux environment. This would include administration, patching, design, hardening, and all maintenance tasks. Looking for strong knowledge with Red Hat Enterprise, Cent OS, and any enterprise Linux management. The position will also be part of our general team needs in the rest of the environment.**Responsibilities**:**Typical day-to-day responsibilities include the following**:- Responsible for the Linux environment deployment, configuration, and management- Manage licensing and reports using Satellite- Build automation using Ansible- Primary support Linux servers and Linux storage needs- Engineer solutions to improve stability and resiliency- Complete maintenance tasks and oversee patch management- Use enterprise tools to manage devices and perform configuration management- Investigate and troubleshoot issues to identify root cause to implement recurrence prevention plans.- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted customers via crisis management.- Develop and maintain installation, design, and configuration procedures and documentation.- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.- Report on performance to support capacity planning and hardware lifecycle planning.- Participate in an on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support for all relevant systems during such a rotation.- Provide guidance to team members on systems-related technologies in the form of consultations, architecture and design proposals, and reviews.- Follow existing incident, problem, release, crisis, and change management processes as well as provide feedback to improve said processes.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience- Minimum of 5 years of experience administering Windows and Linux Servers**Skills**- Minimum of 5 years of experience with enterprise systems engineering- Proficient with Linux OS including hands-on experience with system installation / configuration, file concepts, resource monitoring, package management, and process control /management- Proficient with Windows Server OS including hands-on experience with system installation / configuration, file system concepts, resource monitoring, user administration, package management, and process control/management- Experience using Windows / Linux security best practices- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare- Knowledge of SAN and NAS principles, some experience deploying and maintaining various storage solutions- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting; using scripting to help automate administrative tasks to improve overall team efficiency- Strong interpersonal and communication skills- Highly motivated and self-driven, capable of working with little instruction to resolve demanding tasks, as well as work with internal teams**Pluses**- Working experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence- Experience with Okta Identify Management platform- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds- Understanding of ITIL framework and processes- HireRight, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer_- Minorities / Females / Veterans / Disabilities_- Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities_- The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
