Mexico Country Controller

Overview The Regional Franchise Controller manages multiple teams of senior professionals through other senior managers. The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products / services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual / practical grounding in both the function and / or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences. The job is likely to be involved in both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed, and possibly on other related areas and organization as a whole. Develops medium Responsibilities Contributes to the integrity and control of company's financial books and records as well as the process by which these records are generated. Support the complex and dynamic BAU activities as well the M&A team and CFO establishing effective and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth transition and the accurate and timely reporting of results to the prospective buyer. He or she will play a critical role in the evolution of the 'new bank' and will lead the transformation of the state of art infrastructure that will effectively support local & US regulatory reporting requirements. Participates in efforts to embed consistent controls and unify various controller functions performed across businesses including assessing & standardizing financial reporting; setting controls around corporate / regulatory reporting; recommend balance sheet integrity. Responsible for strengthening the independent controls and the control environment throughout the company to support the business in efforts to grow responsibly. Oversees business operations for region with multiple business / product / functional lines. Ensures that the region is defining and implementing strategies that are aligned with overall strategy and goals. Uses comprehensive understanding of a significant part of the business with knowledge of the industry in which the company operates to address any issues affecting the business. Helps determines end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and significant contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Helps determines key decisions and strategies regarding business function in terms of size of team managed and interaction with other functions or businesses or countries. Assists in developing long-term functional strategies for an entire region, a sub-function within a function, or a sizeable unit within a business requiring coordination and integration across other units. Establishes effective, collaborative relationships with other areas within the company or external organizations. Managers through managers the cross discipline teams and has overall responsibility for the teams including coaching / motivating staff performance and compensation management and career development. Negotiates and influences internally and externally at senior levels with clients, government bodies or other organizations. Qualifications 15+ years relevant experience Education Bachelors / University degree, Master's degree preferred; managerial experience Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.
