The IT Bus Unit Sr Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers, understanding how the sub‑function contributes to the overall objectives of the function. The role requires a deep knowledge of the industry, competitors’ products and services, and strategic direction of the function, combining solid conceptual and practical grounding in the relevant area. Excellent communication skills are essential for senior‑level internal negotiations and occasional external communication. The manager executes functional strategy, determines implementation approaches, and is accountable for results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation, and future strategy contributions. Impact reflects team size, strategic influence on the business, and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility includes people, budget, planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and budget approval. The role reports directly to a C‑level executive and functions as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country or site location. Responsibilities Functions in a Chief of Staff capacity to ensure strategy is implemented appropriately. Ensures the IT organization is defining and implementing its business plan and goals to support the organization’s strategy. Collaborates with IT functional/departmental executives and business leaders to create the IT business plan. Scans the external IT environment to provide a set of planning assumptions. Collaborates with Finance and Human Resources to represent IT needs and understand cost and human resources impacts of those needs in creating, implementing, and adjusting IT business plans. Responsible for internal communications, right placement/managed services, and technical training, ensuring the business unit meets or exceeds SLAs. Resolves a variety of broad-based and complex issues, using sound understanding of theories and practices in related subject areas. Applies in‑depth knowledge of how technology integrates within the organization and of direct competitors’ products and services. Has full management responsibilities for the team (people, budget, planning). Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations; uses multiple information sources. Impacts the area through responsibility for planning, finances, budgets, end results, policy setting, and strategic decisions. Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy; may negotiate with external parties. Appropriately assesses risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for reputation and safeguarding the firm, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and internal policy, applying ethical judgment, and escalating control issues transparently. Qualifications 15+ years of experience in technology planning with extensive business, functional, and people management experience. Budget management, risk & control management, and influential communication skills. Managerial experience. Education Bachelor’s or University degree; Master’s degree preferred. Esta posición, nivel Dirección, será la responsable del equipo que implementará en el corto y mediano plazo la nueva plataforma para Markets que permitirá a Banamex tener su propia infraestructura tecnológica para dar capacidad operativa a este segmento de negocio. Debe contar con una vista holística (Front to Back to Risk) y entendimiento profundo de negocio de Mercados con especial entendimiento de los productos siguientes: Fixed Income FX Money Market Repo Mexicano Derivados OTC (Plain Vanilla y Exóticos) Derivados Listados o ETDs Cash Equities Conocimiento detallado del proceso Back de Markets y su integración con sistema de pagos, contable, monitorizaciones transaccionales y de cumplimiento (surveillance), integración con AML & KYC, y reportería regulatoria operativa para este segmento. Así como la contribución a reportes regulatorios financieros y contables que emite el banco hacia los distintos reguladores. En el largo plazo la colaboración de este recurso senior nos permitirá acelerar futuras integraciones e implementaciones de nuevos productos con vista End to End. La persona interesada en esta posición debe tener experiencia previa en la implementación de soluciones de mercado como Murex, Calypso, OPICS, Lumina, ION, así como la compleja gestión de estos proveedores. Deberá contar con conocimiento amplio en la gestión de proyectos de amplio alcance, con interacción de equipos multidisciplinarios técnicos, operativos y de negocio. Calificaciones Más de 15 años de experiencia en planificación de tecnología, con vasta experiencia en negocio Markets e Inversiones, funciones y administración de personal. Administración de presupuesto, gestión de riesgo y control, habilidades de influencia. Experiencia en gerencia.
