Monitors incoming news. Makes fast decisions and ensures content is quickly edited and transmitted.- Refines and codes content and improves content where appropriate, ensuring correct balance, style, objectivity and reliable sourcing.- Liaises with journalists, other desks (including pictures, the Editorial Reference Unit, TV and graphics) and specialist editors and provides feedback as needed.- Monitors external media and other sources, identifying gaps in coverage and feeds into the news editing process.- May create content. May engage clients (through blogs, online chatrooms etc).- For local language services adapts, translates and codes international service stories per local client requirements.
