This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the procurement of designated materials and components used in both internal manufacturing and designated externalmanufacturing partners, while ensuring optimal inventory levels and high service performance.In addition to daily operations, the Direct Materials Purchasing Manager assures supplier capacitycontinuous improvement mindset, is comfortable navigating high-complexity supply chains, andleverages technology-enabled solutions to drive operational efficiency and scalability.**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:- People Development: Supports team members’ professional growth so they can perform at their best and continue advancing in their careers.- Purchasing Team leadership: Lead the Purchasing team to ensure the purchase order processis executed per established policies, secures timely availability of assigned materials andcomponents to support uninterrupted production. The team could include Buyers, PlannersStrategic Capacity Specialists, Supply Chain Technicians.- Supplier Relationship Management as it relates to day-to-day activities such as purchase orderplacement, volume variations, operational issues, account payable issues, etc.- Inventory Management and Slow and Obsolete Inventory: Develop, recommend, implement andtrack inventory strategies for designated material categories to optimize stock levels, minimizecosts, and always ensure product availability.- Component Issue management: Engage and drive close cross functional collaboration withSource, Engineering, Planning, Lifecycle Management, R&D, Quality, among others, toproactively resolve issues and safeguard production continuity.- Supplier Capacity Management: Perform supply base capacity assessments to identify capacitygaps, develop mitigation plans, and track projects along with project leader until completion.Additionally, this role will collaborate with project leaders to properly prioritize projects andresource allocation.- Process Improvement: Identify and implement supply chain improvements through processoptimization and digital tools.- Financials: Provides timely and accurate information to support budgeting processes acrossfinancial cycles. Delivers on established targets.Appendix I Rev M CONFIDENTIAL use pursuant to Company Procedures Page 3 of 4- Manages the timely distribution of material/components to designated external manufacturingpartners to ensure alignment with production plans and prevent supply disruptions.- Support designated New Product Launches by ensuring timely availability of materials andcomponents to enable successful validation activities and production ramp-up.- Responsible for the process of Planning for subassembly materials to support uninterruptedproduction.- Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the nextmanagement level.- Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmentalpractices as applicable.- For those who supervise or manage staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow allCompany guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that allresources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local andCompany regulations, policies, and procedures.- Performs other duties assigned as needed**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**- Minimum of BS in Business, Finance, Engineering, Logistics.- MBA in related fields a plus.- 8-10 years of experience in Procurement, Materials Management or related areas (materials planning, master scheduling, inventory management, capacity management, etc).- 3+ of experience as a people leader preferred.- Experience in Medical industry preferred.**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS**- Fluent in English- CPIM, CSCP by APICS is preferred.- Six Sigma Green Belt certified is preferred.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Strong analytical reasoning.- People leadership.- Proficiency in using procurement software and systems and Digital tools- Willingness to work i
