Mitie has over 77,000 people, 100+ office locations, and thousands of customers across the country, there’s no limit to what you can achieve if you work for us.- Job Overview- Mitie are seeking a Dynamic Visiting Aircraft Handling Section (VAHS) Team Leader to supervise a small team in support Aircraft Movements and Operations on Ascension Island.**Main Duties**- Ground Handling of visiting aircraft to Ascension Island including marshalling.-- Smooth running of the team during turn round of the Aircraft.-- Co-Ordinate with Operations on aircraft movements and parking.-- Ensure all personnel on the team is suitably trained to carry out their duties.-- All tasks are carried out safely and to the standards required.-- Stop the servicing and report any incident to the team leader that you think might endanger the aircraft immediately.-- Running the team who are servicing the Aircraft at Ascension Island. Ensuring high standards of workmanship is maintained at all times.-- Ensure all personnel are fully briefed on timings and locations for the turnaround, can be anti-social hours.-- Rotation of personnel through each role of the turnaround so competencies are maintained throughout the team.-- Ensure all Ground Support Equipment used by VAHS personnel is task worthy on JAMES before the aircraft arrives, all deficiencies are to be reported to the GSE supervisor.-- Carry out any other duties detailed by the GES & VAHS supervisor.- Undertake other supporting GES duties i.e. tool and equipment calibration, daily equipment and tool checks, VAHS inventory management.- Operation of aircraft support vehicles, Water, Toilet and Food iaw extant procedures and all operators have been trained accordingly.-- Ensure that any accident or incident forms are completed and passed to OC Op's.- What we are looking for-- Able to work well in and lead a team, control the turn round process, and ensure it is done safely and to current procedures.-- Good verbal communication skills and command of the English Language.-- Have good computer skills.- Medically fit with good eyesight, no colour blindness.- Full driving license.- Prior experience essential for this role.
