Is looking for a Breed leaderRole purposePlan, manage and support the delivery of projects aimed at improving the performance of germplasm. Effective management and delivery of these projects results in the development of competitive hybrids that give rise to superior per-forming products at the customer level.Accountabilities- Design the Territory Breeding strategy according to Business necessities and timelines and close follow of strategy implementation. Technologies strategy included according to decisions of company standards.- Define crossing and population advance strategy and discuss the breeding effort assigned to each program, technology mix, native traits, and all relevant matters to obtain the desirable products according to each regional of the country.- Represent the Breeding department in different teams and being ac-countable for decision making in those teams.- Responsible for the definition and management of the Breeding Team in the territory, goals establishment and evaluation of people, promoting people development and succession plans.- Discuss and interact with Testing and Operations areas to ensure the proper alignment of all operative necessities and that tasks are performed with high quality and in a timely manner.- Prepare all the relevant information for advancement meetings.- Ensure that end-to-end alignment of Line purity production with Line maintenance and Parent seeds areas are performed according to the stage plan volumes and needs to achieve the product launch as stablished.- Secure the proper resources for the crop projects in R&D and prepare the year budget in connection with the company, assigning the resources according to the regional needs and aligned with Business unit objectives.Knowledge, experience & capabilities- PhD in plant breeding with a proven track record of 5+ years in a breeding program- Fluent in Spanish and English- Demonstrate strong customer orientation, displaying a thorough understanding of target market, farmers' views and feedback, and long-term market opportunities.- Demonstrable grasp of trialing, phenotyping, crop processes, germplasm diversity and utility, and scientific basis of plant breeding with a strong analytical skillset (Statistic, computer programs).- Demonstrate competence in using key breeding tools while also scouting promising new technologies- Skilled in appropriately challenging how we do what we do. From a mindset of critical analysis, able to innovate in important ways to drive better efficiency.- Ability to prioritize, provide good work instructions, understand, and work within the fundamentals of project management- Skilled communicating to audiences of all sizes with messages that are compelling to customers and stakeholders at many different levels, effectively addressing their information needs- Ability to connect effectively in interdisciplinary teams and with a diverse group of stakeholders and functional collaborators
