Payroll Accountant

We are hiring a **Payroll Accountant **who will oversee payroll general ledger processes for Steelcase Mexico legal entities. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of all payroll-related journals into the GL systems across the region. This includes payroll accruals, monthly reconciliation of specific accounts, and flux analysis.**What you will be doing**:- Prepare payroll ledger entries extracted from TRESS payroll system.- Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial reporting regulations.- Compile, analyze, and report payroll financial data.- Generate periodic reports, such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements, for all payroll accounts.- Perform monthly reconciliations and flux analysis.- Collaborate closely with payroll processors and accounting teams across regions.- Maintain accurate financial records and account reconciliations for all payroll accounts.- Attend internal and external financial audits and resolve any discrepancies.- Work with auditors and the management team as needed during audits.- Prepare and process entries related to the Actuarial study (D3 / ASC715).**Who you are**:The **Payroll Accountant** should be prompt, detail-oriented, professional, analytical, and capable of multitasking within tight deadlines.**Required Skills and Competencies**- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.- 3- 5 years' experience as a Payroll Accountant or in a similar role.- Proficiency in payroll software such as TRESS and SAP.- Proficient with Microsoft Business Suite, advanced Excel skills.- Extensive experience in preparing ledger entries and reconciling payroll accounts.- Advanced English proficiency.**Preferred Skills and Competencies**- Payroll Certification or specialization is preferred.- Excellent organizational and communication skills.- Strong analytical skills.- Project management oriented.- Ability to work in a cross-functional environment.**Why people choose to work with us**:At Steelcase, we put people at the center of everything we do.
