Job Description - Manufacturing Intern (0093XE)

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Intern in our Rojo Gomez Plant in CDMX.

Mission

Maintain the design intent and integrity of products assembled in the floor shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expert specialized in several areas of knowledge regarding production/manufacturing processes in an entity (SPS: process design, ergonomics, capacity, simulation tools, investment, cost analysis, performance, etc.). Strongly contributing to/leading continuous improvement actions.

Main Activities

  • Implement adaptation on the processes and manufacturing workstation for existing products by improving the industrial performance in manual processes, automatic processes & PLC (Programmable Logic Control) using SPS techniques and tools.
  • Involved in the specifications and quotation of new line architectures and industrial scenarios in order to meet Safety/Quality/Lead Times and productivity requirements.
  • Ensure the deployment of SPS principles and implement Lean/6 Sigma tools.
  • Participate in the SIM2 of their sector(s) and address necessary actions to quickly remove barriers.
  • Manage the capacities vs workload balance with the dedicated tools (iQsimulation, CAMA, CORIM, Bridge, etc.) in internal and external lines.
  • Optimize Lead Times and assure capacity of the lines.
  • Write operator work instructions for training.
  • Contribute to the development of new products (producible, feasible).
  • Study the feasibility & profitability of investments adapted to the needs.
  • Qualifies means and processes, in plant but also at suppliers' location.
  • Pilots new productions ramp-up.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Systems, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a closely related field.
  • Being an active student for 1 year or more.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power Apps.
  • Basic understanding of problem-solving methodology.
  • Desirable knowledge of Lean tools, AUTOCAD, Six Sigma.
