About the Opportunity What you'll be doing The primary focus of this role will be to oversee the expansion and maintenance of JumpCloud's design system. You will act as both lead designer and product owner as you evolve the system from its current foundational maturity into a best in class framework. You will collaborate with peers in Product and Engineering to align on the North Star destination, and coordinate a roadmap for delivering incremental milestones. In addition to strategic vision, day to day responsibilities will include a combination of : guiding a team of designers, "hands‑on" design and delivery, DesignOps, and constant contact with agile product / engineering teams. Key skills you'll bring to JumpCloud include "Full stack" design skills - information architecture, interaction / visual / motion design, and content strategy Ability to establish a strong vision and roadmap for JumpCloud's design system Effective cross-functional collaboration to deliver DS solutions that scale across responsive web, native desktop, and mobile (web, iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Linux) Strong attention to detail, and pride of ownership for holistic quality to deliver a simple, loveable, and complete design system. Ability to partner effectively with engineering to maintain and prioritize a backlog and pipeline Excellent visual communication skills for crafting user-friendly documentation and UX / ENG enablement tools Who you are You have 12+ years of product design experience within consumer-focused, fast-paced tech companies, delivering customer value quickly to the market. You are a seasoned, full-stack designer who can drive experiences from discovery to delivery. You are a persuasive communicator and advocate, with a track record for translating vision and strategy into a clear and actionable roadmap You've shipped many products over the years and are skilled at balancing both business-to-consumer and business-to-business considerations. You are passionate about design systems and well-versed in data-informed product design and development. You empathize with our unique IT users, understand our technology, and simplify complex functional operations into smooth and intuitive user experiences. You have experience working in an agile environment with design, product, and engineering leaders to align on product strategy and make them real as a team. You are a trusted mentor. Your actions, experience, and knowledge are influential to design and designers. You are passionate about design culture. You are a voice of design principles and methods across all functions and levels of the organization. You are as excited about strategy and leadership as you are about putting your Figma helmet on and diving into the auto-layout.
