Sr. Buyer

Fender Musical Instruments (FMI) is looking for a Sr. Buyer for our Ensenada, Mexico location. In this role, you will be responsible for purchase materials from approved and qualified suppliers with sufficient lead time to prevent material shortages, negotiate prices and provide competitive bidding procedures when necessary to ensure the lowest cost for specific materials, assist the purchasing manager in designing and launching request-for-quotations (RFQ) or request-for-proposals (RFP) for assigned materials, and analyze and evaluate quotations submitted by potential suppliers to ensure the quality, quantity, delivery, terms and cost are acceptable.An American icon, Fender was born in Southern California and has built a worldwide influence extending beyond the studio and the stage. A Fender is more than an instrument; it's a cultural symbol that resonates globally.**About the job**:- Purchase materials from approved and qualified suppliers with sufficient lead time to prevent material shortages.- Expedite solutions of any problems that arise in relation to delivery date, quality, quantity, and cost of purchased commodities.- Negotiate settlements with suppliers on any problems that have caused company losses (poor quality, delivery delays, etc.)- Recommend cost savings improvements through changes of purchasing systems, sources and quality.- Meet with existing suppliers in order to evaluate their services and products to seek out cost reductions, quality improvement, or new products,- Communicate problem areas or market conditions that could have a significant effect on production schedules to the purchasing manager.- Provide direction and/or mentoring to buyers as directed by the purchasing manager.- Provide solutions to goods receipts discrepancies and clear vendors invoices.- Implement strategies for the inventory reduction.**What you need**:- Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Industrial Engineer, or equivalent experience.- Minimum of 4 - 7 years of experience in a procurement position or similar.- MRP system expertise, preferably SAP.- Strong negotiation skills.- Excellent communication and analytical skills.- Microsoft Office Suite.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels.- Strong sense of integrity.- Lean manufacturing experience preferred.- English language competency is required.**About Fender Musical Instruments**:
