We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.As a Senior of Controlling & Statutory Specialist supporting the FRA Operations Team, you will be identifying and proposing alternatives to possible risks and handling the controversies. A key contributor to the assigned country Statutory functions. The role will be performing the business support to have reviews and analysis, this position will work in the Regional Statutory accounting area. The Statutory Senior will accomplish the Local, Global and Regional requirements. Controllership Senior Specialist is functionally responsible for controllership and statutory activities and has a key role in working with several stakeholders within Financial Reporting and Accounting (“FRA”), and Group functions.In this role, a typical day will include:- This role will ensure controllership and statutory activities are aligned with Alcon’s global policies and follow local laws as well as international standards.- Responsibilities include managing statutory accounting, reconciling IFRS and local GAAP differences, leading transfer pricing reviews to meet tax regulations, and acting as the single point of contact for external auditors to ensure timely issuance of financial statements.- The role oversees the preparation of statutory reports for LATAM countries, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and controls.- Compliance duties involve thorough documentation, adherence to IFRS and Alcon Financial Controls, and supporting SOX certification.- Additionally, the role emphasizes fostering an inclusive, service-oriented culture that drives high performance, standardization, and customer-focused improvements.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:- An undergraduate degree in accounting and/or Finance required. Master’s or Advanced degree in accounting and/or Finance preferred.- Accounting Expertise: 5+ years in accounting (Mid-Sr level) with proven accuracy in financial reporting and statutory activities.- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of IFRS, balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, and corporate/statutory accounting.- Audit & Controls: Experience managing internal/external audits and implementing internal/financial controls (SOX preferred).- Advanced Tools Proficiency: Hands-on with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), Microsoft Excel (advanced), Word, and PowerPoint.Additional Expertise (preferred): Familiarity with transfer pricing and controllership responsibilities.- Key Strengths: Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
