Propulsion Supplier Quality Engineer

**Job Description Details**Responsible for overseeing several casting commodities while also having direct responsibility for a given commodity and ownership of the supply base to assure processes and quality of parts produced meet and exceed all expectations to the manufacturing plants of the Stellantis group. PPAP approvals of new projects and engineering changes. Coordination of quality problem containment activities and root cause investigation through the use of advanced problem-solving techniques. Implementation of corrective, preventive actions, continuous improvement and action plans in supplier plants. Supplier audits to ensure compliance with the quality standards and requirements of Stellantis and the Automotive industry.Direct involvement with the full life cycle of components from early development, sourcing, launch phase, and into production. Lead suppliers to drive continuous improvement/read-across activities to reduce warranty and improve supplier performance. Work cross-functionally with Engineering and Purchasing on items such as Commodity Strategies for casting components under his/her responsibility. Ensure proper designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes are selected accountable for leading a team that ensures all suppliers parts are robust, repeatable and conform to dimensional and performance requirements. Ensure operational efficiency and execution of the supply base and prepare our suppliers with the knowledge and support necessary for a flawless launch. Partner with suppliers to review manufacturing processes, develop quality systems and ensure the highest quality components will be provided for our vehicles. Provide on-site at Stellantis assembly plants as required. Drive change within both plant and manufacturing and component suppliers to resolve component issues, drive warranty reduction, and oversee continuous improvement efforts. Ensure component suppliers' processes are robust and capable and meet capacity (run rate) projections. Manage key component quality milestones. Lead problem solving activities with internal and external organizations.Responsibilities of the Powertrain Supplier Quality Engineer - Castings include but are not limited to:- Provide support for the appropriate root cause and corrective actions of various casting issues within the Supplier Operations across the regions and BICEEPs.- Support the mentor activities to SQEs to increase casting knowledge.- Review and evaluate current and new suppliers during the sourcing process.- Collaborate with the e-ICE Team for casting components development in the EV-ICE platforms.**Requirements**:**Basic Qualifications**:- Minimum of an Engineering Degree from an accredited university.- Minimum of 5 years work experience in quality, engineering, production, manufacturing, or related field.- Self-motivated / organized / accountable and with a strong sense of urgency / able to prioritize with mínimal supervision.- Excellent communication, analytical and negotiating skills at all levels of management.- Team building, coaching and program management skills.- Knowledge of quality Core Tools and problem-solving tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, CP, 8D, RedX, Six-Sigma).- Demonstrated knowledge in HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting), Gravity Permanent Mold, Sand Package and Low Pressure Die Casting, including casting tooling and process adjustments.- Fluent English speaker.- Ability to travel within the North America region 50-70%.**Preferred Qualifications**:- MBA or Engineering Master's degree.- Experience in Supplier Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or Manufacturing.- Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.- Experience within powertrain areas, plastics, casting, forging, machining and assembly.- Demonstrate Technical skills required to guide casting suppliers in improving their quality metrics.- Experience with Aluminum castings, Steel forgings, Iron castings, and powder metal commodities.
