Sr. Cost Reduction Project Engineer

**Location**: Reynosa, TAM, MX, 88730**Company**:Corning**Scope of Position**:The Sr Cost Reduction Project Engineer plays a central role in executing OCS’s cost reduction strategy. This role oversees the health, development, and deployment and of the division’s cost reduction portfolios. They serve as the point of contact for the total OCS cost reduction plan.Sr Cost Reduction Engineer works within the Capabilities Portfolio Management group in Division Engineering. They will coordinate with plant cost reduction administrators globally to execute their duties.**Responsibilities**:- **Ownership**:- Coordinate the comprehensive cost reduction system consisting of multiple medium- and long-term programs- Manage the global portfolio for all the cost reduction projects in OCS x- Serve as the Point of Contact for Cost reduction for all of OCS’s global cost reduction programs- Oversee the financial validation process for the cost reduction projects- Continuously improve the cost reduction systems to better predict, analyze and drive cost reduction goals- **Analysis**:- Consolidate data, analyze gaps and propose solutions to close those gaps- Administer reporting systems to push data to leadership for effective and efficient decision making- **Leadership**:- Lead the Jupiter program (global workshop to generate new cost reduction projects/ideas)- Lead the regional validation meeting for top cost reduction projects globally- Lead the transition of cost reduction from its current SRA database to Planview- Lead the rollout of the new cost reduction tools- Lead Cost Reduction Administrators and CR program owners to properly document, update, and report on project portfolios- Drive ongoing process to update forecasts and reporting**Education and Experience**:- Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other Engineering- 5-10 years manufacturing experience- Cost reduction or other systems experience a plus**Skills**- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)- Advanced knowledge of excel and Microsoft Suite- Confident to step in and lead discussions with those with more experience- Data analysis skills- Project Management- Agile and responsive to urgent requests from leadership- Systems thinking- **Project Management Certificacion**:- **Six Sigma / Green Belt** (Lean Manufacturing)
