Automation Software Developer

**Description**:Develop, design and/or collaborate in the database solutions for manufacturing systems.**Key Responsibilities**:- Include the following (other duties may be assigned):- Ensures the effective fulfillment of objectives and deadlines assigned to him or her.- Coordinate efforts with the related departements to ensure the success of the project, specialy close communication with SQA, development/integration and manufacturing process engineers.- Manage tasks through the entire project lifecycle.- Assist in requirements gathering, planning, design and testing of assigned tasks.- Document, define, measure, and improve existing software validation processes (Unit Testing, Integration Testing, SQA, user manuals, data flow charts, etc.)- Document, define, measure, and improve existing manufacturing processes using Industry accepted Automation and Controls Engineering Techniques (PLCs, data base management, server architecture, etc.)- Integrate and automate existing manufacturing systems and processes.- Understand process capability metrics and work with process engineers to improve the performance of the operation overall, from an Equipment/Controls/Automation perspective.- Develop and conduct process and equipment training courses and produce associated course material.- Ensures the effective fulfillment of objectives and deadlines assigned to the group.- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to Management team and/or Human Resources.- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.- Perform other duties as assigned.**Skills, Knowledge & Expertise**:- Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical / Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or any applicable Engineering discipline.- Bilingual - English/Spanish.- 5-7 years relevant experience in software development environment.- Strong PC Software programming experience in:o.NET (C Sharp, VB)o Microsoft SQL Server, Distributed data baseso Distributed systems (architecture)o Software version Managemento Source code control systems (GIT / Bitbucket)o Software stress testing, system stress test (HW / SW)o agile software development methodology- Strong hands-on experience in programming, troubleshooting, modification and programs creation from cero for software solutions.- Knowledge in the following technologies:- Programming Vision Systems like Cognex and Matrox Software’s, DataMatrix/Bar Codes readers, OCR recognition.
