In this role, you will work among engineering teams to develop cutting-edge software solutions. We are seeking a Data Engineer to work with various clients at our delivery center in Guadalajara, MX. Our mission at Apex Systems is providing Insights that Inspire. As a Data Engineer , you will help achieve that mission by giving our clients consultative guidance and technical expertise. What you'll do: Work with business and product partners to understand their objectives and implement solutions to support their goals. Build traveler data products that form the foundation of personalization efforts at EG across user acquisition, marketing communications, in-app experiences, and customer support. Champion and exemplify an engineering culture of customer focus, engineering excellence, and continuous learning and improvement. Write quality code, define and implement test cases and monitor production systems effectively and efficiently. Who you are: A data-focused engineer with experience and expertise in big data and graph technologies. 5+ years of work experience in software engineering. 3+ years’ experience in implementing Big Data applications (data ingestion, real-time data processing and batch analytics) in Big Data, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Hadoop, Map Reduce, Hive. Experience with Graph Databases like Neo4J, Amazon Neptune is desired. Server-side programming skills in multiple languages (Scala/Java and Python). Experience with different aspects of data systems including database design, data modeling, performance optimization, SQL etc. Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure. Proficient with workflow management tools (e.g. Airflow). A skilled practitioner of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Familiar with the e-commerce or travel industry. Must Have: Streaming - Kafka (producer/consumer APIs) - this is critical. Batch Processing - Spark. Cloud experience (prefer AWS but ok with Azure or Google).
