Main locations of SM are Germany, Mexico, India and Romania. Operations are focused on a cloud-like delivery approach with large server pools (>30 000 servers globally), highly available infrastructure landscapes (server cluster, operating systems with support of storage systems), very high level of automation.Driving continuous improvement is one main lever to increase operation availability and efficiency. Infrastructure landscape re-architecture and new technology adoption is another important part. Global thinking and a strong customer focus are essential.Within our team, we practice a trust-based working model. If you need to work flexibly from another location or at another time you can do so given your manager’s agreement.**EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS**As specialist SM Level 3 you are responsible for:- Conceptual design, configuration and administration of server landscapes with focus on Linux Operating systems- Drive innovation to optimize, automate and standardize the operational delivery processes- Managing the daily operations, ensure high availability- Strong collaboration with other units within MCD and outside- Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware and OS related issue that impact the business.- English Proficiency**EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES****Required skills**- Advanced technical background for server operating systems (Linux SuSE or Red Hat)- Practical experience with OS operation, upgrades and security patching- Server to storage connectivity technology (NFS, CIFs, FC)- IT experience with services like sFTP, DNS, LDAP, Samba, Sendmail, Postfix- Networking experience with the suite of TCP/IP- Server and network security knowledge, OS hardening, antivirus solutions (McAfee)- You like to work in international teams, communicating in English fluently**Preferred skills**- Experience in server operation in large, non-homogeneous landscapes (+1000 server)- Experience with OS monitoring, backup/restore, configuration automation technologies (CHEF)- Virtualization (XEN, VMware)- Experience with public cloud service provides (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) is a plus.- Plus: BMC BladeLogic, IBM Spectrum Scale, HPE and Lenovo hardware technology, SAP HANA- Server configuration automation with CHEF**WORK EXPERIENCE**- 3+ year work experience in server administration (3rd level support)- Multiyear, inter-cultural work experience in international teams- IT process map (Incident and Problem Management)**LOCATION**Monterrey, MexicoSao Paolo, Brazil**WHAT YOU GET FROM US****SAP'S DIVERSITY COMMITMENT**To harness the power of innovation, SAP invests in the development of its diverse employees.
