Senior Solution Design Manager

**Job Title**: Solutions Design Manager**Summary**:The Solutions Design Manager leads the design, development, and implementation of pricing and procurement strategies to support international freight forwarding operations across air, ocean (FCL/LCL), and land services. This role partners closely with the Global Director of Pricing and Procurement to execute pricing analysis procedures, oversee commercial solution development, and drive cost efficiency and performance enhancements. The position also acts as the escalation point for all pricing-related matters and is responsible for rate maintenance, savings initiatives, invoice audits, and client-facing pricing solutions.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:- Collaborate with internal teams such as Procurement, Finance, Project Management, Operations, Commercial, and Solutions to develop and implement cross-functional pricing solutions.- Standardize rate structures, tariffs, and procedures to ensure a consistent and efficient pricing framework within the Solutions Design team.- Lead the creation of routing options, cost models, transit time assessments, and support carrier selection strategies in coordination with Procurement.- Manage end-to-end solution design for existing clients, focusing on international air, ocean (FCL/LCL), and intermodal services.- Define solution process flows, milestones, handoffs, and related technology enablement.- Support key account retention and growth through continuous improvement and analysis, collaborating with Key Account Managers.- Perform final checks on pricing proposals submitted to customers.- Serve as the main point of escalation for pricing, billing, and rate maintenance issues.- Work with the Solutions Supervisor to meet departmental goals and execute key initiatives.- Coordinate with the Commercial team to define timelines and strategies for pre- and post-assessments.- Provide training on customer tariffs to internal teams.- Identify and address root causes in analysis processes, tariff updates, and billing issues.- Optimize processes within Solutions Design in collaboration with other departments to increase efficiency.- Monitor rate maintenance tasks initiated by Finance or Operations to ensure accurate billing to customers and vendors.- Ensure autorating and pricing timelines are met for proper invoicing.- Design and deploy templates, tools, and reports to improve departmental accuracy and efficiency.- Lead internal and external cost-saving initiatives.- Deliver internal training sessions on Solutions Design practices to promote consistency and team development.- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team, role, and company performance.- Foster strong relationships between Commercial account owners and Solutions analysts during tariff cycles.- Manage the bid log to guide strategic planning for customer tariffs.- Participate in non-RFQ pricing tasks, such as pricing reviews or special analyses for underperforming accounts.**Supervisory Responsibilities**:This role oversees teams located in the United States and Mexico.**Qualifications**:**Education and Experience**:A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as Supply Chain or Transportation) from a four-year university is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and/or training.**Language Skills**:This role requires full professional proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. The individual must be able to interpret technical and financial documents, respond to inquiries from customers or regulators, and present information effectively to senior management.
