**Ready to join the future of innovation IT at NXP ?**To enable our design engineers to develop Integrated Circuits and products, NXP has created a high end large-scale hardware design environment. This design environment consists of 10,000 plus servers located in multiple data centers across the globe and is supported by a global R&D IT team, of which our Linux VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) team is part of.You will join the VDI team, which is responsible for the complete VDI solution. This means our team provides the engineers remote access to our central datacenters and enable the engineers to run the interactive Electronic Design Application on the virtual Workstations VDI provides, either on-prem or in the cloud.The VDI team is responsible from the architecture level up to the operational levels. We partner and facilitate with other IT teams that are responsible for services we do not own, but our VDI team sets and manages the operational requirementsFor the VDI team manages thousands of virtual machines globally, automation is essential to configure and manage these resources, and you will be working on automating deployment of systems. Our team will leverage this automated approach, as we drive towards our next step of having an enforced desired state.**Your responsibilities**- Support the VDI solution and the engineers making use of the VDI by solving incidents and problems- Help conduct root cause analyses on problems in close collaboration with other teams, design engineers or the vendor- Participate in change implementations- Automate deployment of machines / rpm’s / settings and our workflows- Work on new developments in the VDI environment, or new VDI technology implementations.**Your team**The VDI team is working in the DevOps approach, using GitLab to manage their build and deployment process. You will be working in/extending automated workflows (GitOps). You will join the team in Guadalajara (Mexico)Though you and your team are located in Guadalajara, you have a global scope and focus. You will also partner with the other VDI teams located in the Netherlands and India. You will be working in a multi-cultural environment, where you also have the opportunity to work with engineers all over the world.As junior VDI Design Engineer you report to the Product Owner VDI in Guadalajara.**Your profile**To be successful in this role you have:- A degree in Information technology, Computer Science/Computer Engineering or similar.- Recent college graduate or up to 2 to max 5 years of experience in working in a multi-national IT environment- Proven experience in managing an IT infrastructure (Linux system administration, VMware, storage), and/or working in large-scale and complex technical environments- You have software skills and have knowledge of scripting languages like bash, python, ansible, salt (experience in coding C++ is a plus). Experience in working in the DevOps way of working (scrum, GitLab) is a plus.- If a recent college graduate, have proven affinity with Linux system administration and/or Linux development and interest in getting deep knowledge on Linux, working in a DevOps/GitOps approach.Furthermore, you are:- Willing to learn and grow in the area of operations, development and automation.- An ambitious and outgoing person with strong analytical and technical IT skills. A fast learner; who thinks outside the box.- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Able to work together with / understand team members and engineers all over the world, communicate fluently in English
