RECEIVING SUPERVISORThe Receiving Supervisor typically works in a warehouse where they are responsible for ensuring that all materials and supplies (MR) are accurately accounted for and stored in an organized manner. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of the supply chain and supporting overall operational goals.Key Responsibilities- Manage Receiving Operations: Oversee the receiving team to ensure that all incoming shipments are accurately processed, inspected for quality, and promptly moved to the appropriate storage or production areas.- Verify Shipments: Check received goods against purchase orders or invoices for accuracy in quantity and quality and coordinate the inspection of items for damage or discrepancies.- Implement Procedures: Develop and maintain receiving procedures and standards to improve efficiency and accuracy in the receiving department.- Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports of all receiving activities, including inventory levels, discrepancies, and damages for audit purposes.- Team Leadership: Schedule and assign tasks to receiving personnel, monitor performance, and provide training to ensure compliance with operational procedures.- Communication: Maintain clear communication with suppliers, buyers, carriers, and internal departments to minimize delays and discrepancies.Required Skills and Qualifications- Education: A high school diploma is typically required; a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably in a supervisory role, is essential.- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, OSHA) preferred- SAP experience- Receiving Supervisor Skills- Organizational skills- Problem-solving skills- Time management skills- Leadership skills- Interpersonal communication skills- Ability to motivate and inspire staff
