In this position, you will execute product development tasks using your technical expertise. Reporting to the R&D Team Manager, you will perform a variety of technology/engineering assignments, recognizing problems and providing input on solutions.**Your responsibilities**:- Documenting work and contributing to written reports.- Keeping up to date with strategic plans and performing activities in line with the current direction.- Contributing your own creative ideas to R&D projects and proposing follow-up activities based on project results.- Gathering information about ABB products and technologies and developing an understanding of technical drivers and customer value.- Providing consulting services to business operations and customers.- Participating in working teams and offering assistance to co-workers, as well as consulting team members and colleagues to gain information and knowledge.- Working to recognize the importance of intellectual property in industry and the advantage of ABB's patents relevant to your own area of research, as well as to grasp risk management in R&D projects.**Your background**:- Sound knowledge of design in sheet metal, copper, and plastics.- Knowledge in CREO and Winchill.- Experience in ANSI / IEC Switchgear/ MCC Design and testing.- Knowledge of UL, ANSI, and IEEE standards.- Knowledge of circuit breaker design, instrument transformer & operation principles of protection in electrical power systems is desirable.- Knowledge of US patent process is desirable.- A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.- A bachelor´s degree in engineering areas; mechanical, electromechanical, mechatronic.- Advanced English level is required.**More about us**:
