Team Lead, Engineering – Gift & Loyalty Are you a seasoned developer who’s ready to step into technical leadership? As a Team Lead at DataCandy, you'll blend your expertise as a senior developer with the responsibility of guiding, empowering, and inspiring a high‑performing team. You'll set the standard for technical excellence while fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Your Focus Technical Leadership: Contribute hands‑on through coding, design, and reviews using PHP, Symfony, JavaScript, and SQL. Lead architectural design to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions that balance speed and quality. Troubleshoot complex challenges and champion clean coding standards, automated testing (PHPUnit, Cypress), and modern DevOps practices. Contribute to the technical roadmap, driving modernization and long‑term maintainability. Team Leadership: Guide your team through agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos) to ensure alignment and momentum. Partner with Product Owners to translate business needs into actionable development tasks. Shield the team from distractions, remove blockers, and foster a collaborative environment built on trust and psychological safety. Ensure predictable delivery of high‑quality, tested code while continuously refining team processes. Planning & Delivery: Break down complex projects into technical tasks with realistic commitments. Track progress, provide visibility into risks and timelines, and collaborate with other team leads to improve cross‑team initiatives. Drive continuous improvement in practices, processes, and technology adoption. Performance & Growth: Provide timely, constructive feedback and coaching so team members can reach their career goals. Identify skill gaps and advocate for training or learning opportunities. Lead by example with strong problem‑solving skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence. Who You Are Experienced: 8+ years in software development with deep expertise in PHP, Symfony (or similar), MySQL, and Doctrine ORM. Tech‑Savvy: Skilled in JavaScript (jQuery, AngularJS, or similar) and testing frameworks like PHPUnit and Cypress. Strong Leader: Proven experience mentoring or leading teams, with a passion for cultivating talent and fostering collaboration. Agile Minded: Solid understanding of Scrum or Kanban, with the ability to facilitate ceremonies and keep the team focused. Problem‑Solver: Analytical, detail‑oriented, and always hunting for ways to raise the bar. Growth‑Oriented: Embraces feedback, innovation, and continuous learning—for yourself and your team.
