Your financial experience matters, of course, but you'll be successful here if you also:- A strong communicator, leader and decision maker- Energetic and tenacious- Ready to learn- Committed to building strong relationships with the people you serve**Job Purpose**:To independently perform staff level accounting functions that deal with financial forecast and business analysis issues of normal complexity that support business processes and provide further experience with Caterpillar financial planning and decision support practices.**Job Duties**:The Staff Accountant II will provide technical expertise and will perform more complex accounting work that supports business processes. Additionally, this position will:- Have a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems and procedures;- Participate on and lead teamsIncumbents are exposed to a variety of accounting functions and accomplish a high level of complex and/or technical analysis, review various outputs for reasonableness and advise other accountants. Incumbent works on challenging, medium to high risk issues and makes business decisions and recommendations as appropriate. Work is supported by a supervisor primarily through review of results.Possible areas of responsibility are varied and of high complexity, including:- Operations and/or product group budgeting and expense analysis- Financial budget exercises.- Standard cost variations analysis- Closing activities- Support other areas in the forecasting process- Inventory forecast in both sides Profit & loss & Balance sheet- Capital expenditure forecasting.- Standard and current cost grief resolution- Regional profitability reporting & analysisIncumbents will demonstrate knowledge and ability to independently handle accounting issues. They will demonstrate very good communication skills and have a comprehensive knowledge of their business unit products, suppliers and customers and accounting processes.**Background /Experience**:- Requires a 4-year degree, preferably in accounting- 2-4 years of accounting experience- Fluent English- All approved certifications can be found on Finance Services Division Accounting Certification website.- Must have proven record of strong initiative, leadership, accountability and effective communication skills.**Final details**:**The Caterpillar Code of Conduct states that we will select and place employees based on their qualifications for the job to be performed, without regard to race, religion, national origin, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
