This role assists the technician in installing and maintaining mechanical plant and equipment, and associated machinery to maximize availability of plant and equipment. The role also carries out first line maintenance and routine inspection of plant equipment and compiles inspection reports.**Key Performance Outputs**:- Mechanical Assets Maintenance- Equipment and Plant Availability- Maintenance Reports- Stakeholder Management- Compliance & Governance- SHEQ Championing- Culture**Required Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**:- Basic understanding of mechanical maintenance techniques and practices, including repair, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery- Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures and regulations related to mechanical maintenance, ensuring a safe working environment for self and others- Skill in performing routine mechanical maintenance tasks and minor repairs on mechanical systems and equipment- Knowledge of and commitment to adhering to established SHEQ procedures, promoting a culture of safety and well-being among team members- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team- Good communications skills- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities- Material handling- Basic Machining and Welding- Use of Mechanical equipment and tools- Occupational hazards and standards safety practices**Education**:IGSCE Certificate or equivalent qualification- Grade I Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical discipline.
