What do you do?

Join us in the Procurement Execution Center as a Materials Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for enabling our Material Managers and Buyers with standardization and process improvements, driving automation, and performing meaningful analysis. Additionally, this role will support Buyer activities when requested by the plants Material Manager.

How will you do it?

  • Participate in global based project teams to align business units in SAP best practices.
  • Working with data and running reports in different ERP systems
  • Perform assignments as directed by the Materials Manager
  • Provide training in core skill areas to teams and peers and interact with internal customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
  • Establishes SAP system parameters to drive material to its point of use.
  • Provide solutions to information and material movement obstacles by analyzing and suggesting improvements to policies, procedures, and IM systems, while maintaining compliance to internal and external requirements
  • Provide subject matter expertise in component planning best practices among the manufacturing plants.
  • Drive a disciplined monthly/quarterly process with the plant materials to review and maintain credibility in component master data.
  • Efforts to ensure accurate maintenance of lead times, pricing & minimum order quantities.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and perform any data cleansing as required.

Qualifications:

  • +1 year of experience in Material Management. Experience with planning and procuring materials, supplier evaluation and selection, purchasing, receipt process for materials and materials distribution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Strong MS Software skills required – advanced excel preferred (e.g. Arrays, INDEX/MATCH).
  • Experience utilizing Material Requirements Planning tools (SAP desired)
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement, by identifying opportunities, streamlining processes and utilizing Lean/Quality tools to reduce waste and maximize throughput.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to learn and understand the business, to develop business judgment, which will allow the candidate to better execute and generate value for JCI.
  • Relevant experience/knowledge in Data Analytics
  • APICS or ISM CPSM training or certifications are a plus.
  • Business/conversational English is a must due to the nature of the role.
