With a diversity of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with 93,000 other curious, creative 3Mers.The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleThe Compliance Counsel provides substantive counselling in anti-corruption and matters related to compliance with 3M’s Code of Conduct or policies in connection with the business, market and geographic realities. This includes supporting the screening and selection of third parties, identifying and mitigating risks and developing and deploying training and awareness on key policies and procedures.The role also includes help building a strong compliance culture through training, employee communication, leadership engagement and counseling. The E&C Counsel is responsible for review and approval of high risk transactions, including but not limited to Sponsorships, Entertainment, Gifts, Meals and Donations, Conflicts of Interests and Third Party Due diligence. The Compliance Counsel will also contribute to compliance processes such as Risk Assessments, Compliance Evaluations of 3M operations, Third Parties audit, and will monitor Ethics and Compliance metrics to identify trends and emerging risks, as well as monitor anticorruption and compliance related laws and regulations and enforcement trends to embed them in 3M´s Global Compliance Program to the specific countries as applicable. The position is will provide primary support to 3M´s operations in Mexico and other operations of Latin America, but can interact and support Area and Global teams as needed. Here, you will make an impact by:- Substantive Counseling: Advising clients in the business as well as functional groups on anti-corruption and Code of Conduct issues, provide creative and practical solutions in alignment with 3M´s Code of Conduct, policies and laws.- Third Party Selection, Screening & Engagement: Client counselling, review and approval of third party due diligence and mitigation plans, compliance clauses drafting, transaction and approval, training and communication with third parties, such as distributors and vendors.- Business Conduct Committees (BCC): Act as Steward of Business Conduct Committees and ensure leadership engagement.- Building Strong Compliance Culture: Advising on training needs and developing appropriate content, following and supporting execution, providing direct training (live or virtual) to target audience. Promotion of a Speak Up Culture and measurement trough Ethics and Compliance metrics.- Involvement in Global/Area Compliance Initiatives: Planning/Executing risk assessments, participation in compliance evaluations of 3M operations, supporting global compliance communication strategy, participating in compliance network meetings, global/regional special projects, participate actively, proactive and regularly in shaping strategic, tactical and operational plans to enhance and promote compliance programs and tools in the region/area, etc.- Compliance Investigations: Provide post-investigation support on employee disposition and business remediation.Skills and RequirementsTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:- Advanced to fluent in English (speak, listen, write).- Track record of managing diverse teams, working independently to serve clients, and working on or leading project and team members. Be able to work independently and with relatively low direct supervision.- Strong inter-personal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to establish strong work relationships with leadership teams, business and functional leaders as well all levels of the organization.- In order to be successful, the Compliance Counsel must be flexible and aware of cultural differences. Has a strong listening capabilities as well as display strong empathy with the organizations.
