**Job Description Summary**: The Performance Engineer is responsible to address analysis regarding the thermodynamic response of an aircraft engine or aero derivative gas turbine, focused on design, testing, production and field activities support.**Roles and Responsibilities**- Member of a multi-disciplinary team that values curiosity, proactivity, and collaboration, where members of the team need to be learning-oriented and customer-focused.- Performs parametric studies regarding the interaction of the different engine components.- Can understand the effect of different ambient conditions and efficiency/flow perturbations on the overall performance of the engine.- Understands and is capable of explain physical effects that cause significant changes in the performance of an aircraft engine.- Is capable of presenting investigations and results in forums with highly specialized professionals with clarity and technically sound arguments.- Makes use of statistical tools to provide answers.- Looks for creative solutions and constantly finds ways to improve on the quality and response time of their work.**Required Qualifications**- Aeronautical/Mechanical/Energy Engineering BSc.- Experience with Aeroderivative Engine operations and associated Performance Analysis.- Familiarity with the AEO product line is extremely desirable.- Fluent in English language (written and spoken).- Good background on Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics & Statistics.- Problem Solving Skills (Physical phenomena understanding).- Computer Skills (MS Office and, at least, one programming language, preferable C++ and Python).- Experience with NPSS on a fundamental level- Skilled in Basic Statistics**Desired Characteristics**- BSc in Engineering, Master, or PhD in related field.- Skilled in Python and C++- Skilled in Python and C++Familiarity and adaptability to GE Aerospace’s culture.**Additional Information**:**Relocation Assistance Provided**:No
