Senior Advanced Quality Engineer

This position is responsible for product Launch Advance Quality Planning duties, as defined by the YFAI IOS requirements (primarily PMP / PRP) and applicable customer requirements. These responsibilities are typically assigned and executed for specific Launch programs. The position reports to the Advanced Quality Manager.**Supervisory Capacity: No Supervisory Responsibilities**- Facilitate and assure development of Control Plans. These shall be based on customer requirements, Characteristic Matrix and FMEAs.- Ensure preparation and on-time delivery of new product Launch related Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages.- Support DV/PV builds and verify that parts meet dimensional and functional requirements.- Ensure the appropriate inspection plans and containment plans are developed for Launch.- Develop the Past Problem Roadmap for Launch program on programs that are using PRP.- Facilitate/participate in the Engineering development of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DMEA) documents for assigned Launch programs where applicable.- Facilitate/participate in the Manufacturing development of Process Flows (PF) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documents for assigned Launch programs.- Facilitate and assure development of appropriate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) plan for the Launch. Identify appropriate statistical tools and techniques required for assessing process capability and verify all measuring devices are included on the Control Plan.- Ensure initial capability studies are properly performed and documented for initial builds and product changes (Only before SOP) affecting special characteristics, and that Customer and internal requirements are met (or a written Customer deviation is obtained).- Facilitate the SDT and plant to guide that applicable quality Customer-specific systems and requirements are followed.- Facilitate IMDS process for Engineering submission, where applicable.- Attend in the way possible to most of the System Simultaneous Development Team (SDT) meetings and provide required quality documents per program timing.- Facilitate/participate on the development the Characteristic Matrix and Product Safety Manufacturing Certification.- Assist/support Supplier Quality Engineer, as needed, including supplier selection, kick-off meetings and process sign-off.Facilitate / Participate and coach Internal Auditors, for internal audits report audit findings and ensure timely close out of any required corrective actions when required.**Essential Common Requirements for all Employees**:- Must comply with all company policies and procedures.- Employee must have the ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.- Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).**Required Education Level**Bachelor's Level DegreeArea of Study: Quality, Engineering, or Science related field with 5-7 years of related work experience.**Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.****Required Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge) **3-5 Minimum Years of Experience with:- Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments and problem-solving methodology is required. Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is required. Black Belt certification and experience with Minitab software is highly desirable.- Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.- Proficient in use of a computer and common office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment.- Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings are desirable. GD&T proficiency is highly desirable.- Excellent problem-solving skills, including experience preparing problem solving documents such as 8D’s.3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industryMust be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.**Preferred Qualifications (Experience Level, Skills, Knowledge)**- American Society for Quality certification, such as current CQE status, is highly desirable- Green Belt / Black Belt- ISO TS AuditorScrum / Agile Management**Language Required and Preferred: Required**:English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)
