Overview We are an early-stage, venture-backed fintech that focuses on bringing affordable credit and financial services to small business owners across LatAm - starting with Mexico. Grupago is able to serve micro-SMBs as a result of three key innovations - community distribution, group collateral, and AI-driven underwriting. Community distribution : Grupago acquires community leaders online, who then build lending groups in their local communities. This allows the company to reach rural and otherwise hard to reach customers via its unique and cost effective online-to-offline acquisition approach. Group collateral : Borrowers join together as part of lending groups and co-sign for each other\'s loans. When a payment is missed, other members are responsible for repayment. This approach allows Grupago to profitably collateralize an otherwise uncollateralized customer segment, as well as build much more robust underwriting data than individual loans. AI-driven underwriting : Grupago harnesses the power of AI including non-traditional data sources to underwrite small loans. Over time, they systematically expand credit limits as customers demonstrate successful repayment histories. We are backed by top venture investors across the US and Mexico, and our co-founding team has spent their careers working in fintech and entrepreneurship. This role will include a competitive salary, bonus, and equity compensation. Requirements : We are looking for a hard-working and highly entrepreneurial and experienced person to join as a founding team member. The company currently provides loans, and will be expanding to launch a unique credit card product soon - this role will have leadership of both. You will have primary ownership over managing our credit policies to allow us to achieve low loss rates and unit profitability, as well as manage collections and credit operations - including credit and fraud screening, collections, and customer service interactions. We are looking for someone who has significant demonstrated experience successfully managing a large consumer (or micro-business) credit card and loan portfolio - and achieving best in class loss rates over many years. We are also looking for someone who is entrepreneurial and willing to roll up their sleeves, interview customers, and get into the low level details of customers and the business to achieve success. Your main responsibilities are to : Review and help approve loan and credit card applicants - including conducting fraud and credit review directly. Continually refine and adjust our credit policies and improve our fraud controls Design and execute initiatives to improve collections Conduct financial analysis and reporting across loan cohorts, track KPIs, and conduct other financial analysis to support the business Experience We are looking for a credit leader experienced in running sophisticated credit card and loan programs. Successful track record of leadership roles in the credit card and lending industry at leading credit card providers and / or fintechs in Mexico A stellar credit performance track record across many years of experience Significant experience in credit risk assessment, fraud detection, and collections Deep expertise in financial analysis and modeling Experience in fraud management and interviewing / approving customers for loan approval Fluent in business English & Spanish Ideally has previous work experience at a startup or other fast moving, highly entrepreneurial work environment Ideally well versed in leading statistical packages, financial analysis, as well as writing custom queries in SQL Ideally has experience leading or participating in debt fundraising in capital markets in the Mexico and / or the US Benefits This role will include a competitive salary, bonus, and equity compensation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
