The position lies within our Equities Stock Lending Operations specialising in Collateral and Settlements under the Market & Securities Services Operation umbrella. The job holder is responsible to oversee activities in performing collateral management, affirming, chasing, amending and escalating until settlement of the trade. We are a global team covering multiple balance sheets for Stock Lending product under the Markets business. We are responsible for ensuring all equity stock loan trades booked flow through the various stages of the trade life cycle and settle successfully on value date. The role holder for this oversight function resides within the Global Service Centre. The Opportunity: Assistant Vice President Operations Cash Equities Responsible for overseeing post trade support activities such as collateral transaction processing, monitoring and aiding collateral settlement, Back Office vs Back Office reconciliation, contract compare, investigation and remediation of position/cash imbalances as well as fails management and settlement escalations. The role holder will be working relevant shift hours i.e. US with a possibility for staggered work hours. There are direct reports for this role. What you’ll do : Managing oversight for collateral and settlement operations for US businesses Lead investigation and resolution of failing transactions for US businesses Act as an escalation contact and resolve settlement issues and collateral disputes Review and ensure that risk & control framework and escalation procedures are adhered to. Drive process efficiencies to improve service quality Engage and build strong Business and Operations Management relationships Drive overall business objectives. Work in collaboration with the team to resolve issues Achieve set performance benchmark and target for each year Continuous increase of process knowledge thru cross training Engage with onshore business partners in communicating issues and/or escalations Liaise with external clients in order to resolve issues and/or answer queries What you will need to succeed in the role : Strong understanding of US Market for Settlements and Collateral, Stock Borrowing and Lending Operations Must possess familiarity and knowledge of Tri-Party and Bi-Lateral Processes Ability to work in a virtual team environment with ability to support multiple functions and stakeholders Attention to detail and a hands on approach to identify opportunities of process improvement Strong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management. Ability to implement initiatives and work as part of a team Follow formal escalation framework across all aspects of Operations, including day to day operational risks and systemic risks Strong communication skills with the ability to manage local and international relationships across the org. Requirements What additional skills will be good to have? A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred 3-5 years of investment banking experience would be recommended Proven track record in people management and running global teams. Experience of 3 - 5 years is required Understanding of Asian & European Markets for Settlements Operations A firm understanding, supported by accreditation of LEAN and 6 Sigma methodologies. Strong understanding and knowledge of Equity products is preferred.
