We’re hiring a Senior Android Engineer who will own complex Android integrations, ensure secure and reliable payment flows, and lead SDK lifecycle management across the application. This role requires hands‑on experience integrating, upgrading, and maintaining third‑party SDKs , especially in payment, analytics, or commerce‑related domains . What You’ll Do Android Development & Technical Ownership Lead the design and implementation of native Android features using Kotlin/Java , with a strong emphasis on payment‑related functionality . Own the integration, upgrade, and maintenance of third‑party SDKs , including payment providers and commerce‑related services. Ensure backward compatibility and stability when upgrading Android SDK versions or third‑party dependencies. Translate product and UX requirements into clean, scalable, and maintainable Android code. Payments & SDK Integrations (Core Focus) Integrate and maintain payment SDKs (e.g., card payments, wallets, or checkout SDKs). Perform SDK upgrades , version migrations, and dependency conflict resolution. Collaborate with backend and security teams to ensure secure, compliant, and reliable payment flows . Debug and resolve issues related to third‑party SDK behavior, performance, or crashes. Validate SDK updates through testing, staging, and production monitoring. Architecture, Quality & Code Excellence Enforce Android best practices, architectural standards (MVVM / Clean Architecture), and modularization strategies. Conduct thorough code reviews with special attention to SDK integration quality and maintainability . Implement unit tests and validation for payment flows, edge cases, and failure scenarios. Improve legacy implementations related to SDK usage and dependency management. Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and cross‑functional collaboration with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams. Act as a technical escalation point for Android SDK and payment‑related issues. Support production releases, hotfixes, and post‑release monitoring. Requirements Experience 5+ years of native Android development experience. Proven hands‑on experience with payment SDK integration in production Android applications. Demonstrated experience upgrading, maintaining, or replacing third‑party SDKs . Experience working in e‑commerce, retail, fintech, or similarly complex mobile environments . Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum teams. Technical Skills (Must‑Have) Expert‑level Kotlin and Java . Deep understanding of the Android SDK , dependency management, and versioning. Hands‑on experience with third‑party SDK integration and upgrades (payments, analytics, commerce, etc.). Strong knowledge of RESTful API integration . Experience with modularized Android architectures . Solid understanding of threading, concurrency, and performance optimization . Strong testing mindset, including unit testing for critical flows (payments) . Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows. Jetpack Compose Coroutines StateFlow / Flow Nice to Have (Preferred) Experience with multiple payment providers or payment SDK migrations . Experience troubleshooting SDK conflicts, deprecations, or breaking changes. Familiarity with analytics, A/B testing, or feature‑flag SDKs. Advanced knowledge of Coroutines and Flow (structured concurrency). Exposure to Kotlin Multiplatform. Contributions to open‑source Android projects.
