Ext- Sr Design Engineer

Ensure the effective CAD data control and sharing of Product and Tooling along the lifecycle of the products.- Generate potential proposals to improve customer´s product design in light weighting and performance.- Develop molding/tooling design concepts that contributes to achieve an excellent performance in quality, productivity and cost efficiency in the products.- Contributions in Commercial Processes and in Product Design Feasibility Processes:- Performance of design reviews to identify and make proposals of potential opportunities to improve product light weighting and product performance.- Performance of product feasibility studies identifying geometry issues for manufacturability or assembly.- Support Nemak´s Advanced Engineering and Commercial areas in the preparation of CAD technical proposals and presentations to the customers.- Management of Customer´s product design models and information for internal engineering level control.- Support other areas in Nemak (Manufacturing, Product, Processes, Etc.) with Product CAD Data and virtual analysis required for their processes.- Contributions in Process Development and Validation:- Support the process feasibility (in collaboration with Process/Product Eng. and Simulation Eng.) by the identification of potential geometry issues relevant for Nemak processes and the elaboration of potential design proposals to solve the issues.- Support the design and fabrication of early prototypes produced with additive manufacturing technologies.- Support process validation by providing required geometry and data for dimensional or physical evaluations.- Contributions in Tooling Development and Validation:- Development of molding systems concepts/ tooling* designs concepts to ensure tooling reliability as well as product manufacturability and quality, based on technical standards, process simulations results and lessons learned from other projects.- Propose and adjust in the tooling design models in order to improve the process results or the tooling performance.- Management of Tooling design models and releases of tooling concepts for construction.- Support tooling validation process by certifying suppliers 3D CAD models compliance to Nemak's design standards and by providing to Dimensional Labs the required geometry for dimensional evaluations. Tooling includes Mold/Die and Trim-Tool in the case of HPDC products.- Contributions in Competitive Advantages building:- Support the identification and deployment of optimum Computer-Aided Design (CAD) technologies and processes to achieve excellent value propositions to our Customers.- Support the compliance to all design-applicable standards required from the Customers and/or international organizations.- Ensure the operability of software and hardware required for the CAD processes.**Position Requirements**- 3-5 years of experience as Product Designer (High end CAD software)- Education: BS IMA, IME, IMT or similar (Master Degree desired)- Experience: Casting, HPDC, Automotive Components- NX, Catia, Teamcenter- At Nemak, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (D&I) play a fundamental role in everything we do and are the underlying platform on which our culture is built.
