As a member of the LatAm Safety Ops team you will play an active role in making Uber safer for everyone who uses our platform. We are searching for a highly motivated individual to support the LatAm Safety Ops team to use data to answer relevant business questions, solve problems, and improve processes.**What you will do?**- Understand the analytics needs of internal stakeholders and provide them with solutions that meet those needs.- Navigate Uber's databases to find the data you need to solve the problem at hand.- Support team members with rigorous analysis on how a feature is performing.- Monitor existing features' efficiency metrics and report in case something is off.- Communicate your findings verbally, visually, and in writing.**What do you need?**- **Working knowledge of SQL is a must.**:- **Advanced level of spoken and written English (B2 or above).**:- Ability to work with numbers, spreadsheets, models, and data visualizations.- Solid understanding of statistical fundamentals: descriptive statistics, probability distributions, tests of hypotheses, confidence intervals, regressions, and experiments.- Written and verbal communication- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders coming from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.- Organization and learning- Attention to detail: the team must be able to rely on your work with confidence.- Ability to work autonomously, and to learn new tools on your own.- Creative problem solving: you don't give up on the first attempt. Rather, you explore multiple possibilities to solve a problem.**Qualifications**- Bachelor in Economics, or Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Business.- 2+ years of experience in a data-oriented role in operations, consulting, analytics, or a related field.- Experience working with Python (Libraries: pandas, numpy, etc & API's)- Experience working with R- Experience working with Automation Tasks (using Python) and Github
