The LATAM Stores Accounting organization supports our financial reporting, internal control, and also supports new business launches for Amazon in the consumer products, initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics and payments.A day in the lifePayments Accounting at Amazon is a specialized team responsible for handling all payments processed globally, including various payment products like Gift Cards, Credit Cards, Pay By Invoice, Shop With Points, Amazon Coins, and Amazon Currency Converter. Remember, at Amazon ‘It’s always Day1’.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field- 8+ years of controllership or compliance experience- 8+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience- 8+ years of transactional accounting field experience- 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience- Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis- Thorough knowledge of International, Mexican and U.S. GAAP (including the FASB Codification) and related research tools- Experience with accounting closing process, including preparing and reviewing reconciliations and financial statements- Written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- CPA, or MBA- Experience of project management and an understanding of project management concepts- Operational accounting experience with international companies- Experience handling big amount of data and concepts of data analytics and SQL is desirable
