Tool Engineer

Tool Engineer to be located in Saltillo, Coah. at our Saltillo Technical Center.The Tool Design Engineer will layout, concept and support plastic injection mold designs and Tool Build Coordination. Designs will be followed from detailed estimates to manufacturing and final delivery to the Molding Facility.**Your Role**- Develop plastic injection mold designs and concepts for North American tool builds- Participate in early product development with product engineers and estimators- Design and build new tools, capacity tools, replacement tools and execute tool revisions- Design and build robust tools for manufacturing complying with Aptiv’s and Customer specific Tool Std’s- Participate in product and tool design reviews, DFM, estimating process, ADP projects and Global Tool Standard activities- Execute Tool Launch Meeting and Support tool build to meet customer timing- Meet key dates, maintain through put and quality targets- Perform plans with focus and energy toward exceeding expectations and Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements- Manage and update tool drawings- Support plant tool engineers for mold improvements**Qualifications**- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering- Tooling or component engineering experience; gained through internship or work experience- Demonstrated ability to read and understand component/tooling prints and models- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint- 2+ years’ experience and proficiency in UG NX, or other CAD software (Solid Works, Pro-E, etc.)- 2+ years background in plastic injection mold design and/or tight tolerance machining- Must be willing and able to travel in Mexico or US (As Needed to support Tool issues or Tool Suppliers)- English Technical / Conversation is necessary**Extras**- Experience with plastics processing or plastic injection mold maintenance- MoldFlow Knowledge- Advanced proficiency with NX and in-depth understanding of GD&T- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills- Ability to adjust to constantly changing priorities- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization- Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong ability to work with a team- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently- Resourcefully innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing environment**Aptiv Rewards & Advantages**- Competitive compensation package.- Learning, professional growth and development in a world recognized international environment.- Recognition for innovation and excellence.- Opportunities to give back to the community.- Meaningful work that makes a difference in the world**Some see differences.
