You will need to work with partners in product management, design, user-research and analytics to build experiences that create value for the buyers and sellers on our platform. You will have the opportunity to work at the scale of a major ecommerce website and solve problems using big-data and experimentation.This is a full-time role within the Inventory Buyer Experience Initiative on our Listing iOS Team. Our mission is to develop a dynamic Listing Screen that surfaces the information that matters most to support a buyer in evaluating items, especially for Etsy’s flagship Categories.This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Engineering. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.**What does the day-to-day look like?**- Lead a team of 5 to 8 iOS and API engineers. At Etsy, engineering managers have a limited role in the hands-on process of building software, but a very large role in orchestrating and coaching engineers to achieve results together.- Partner cross-functionally with product management, design, user-research, and analytics to deliver innovative moments focussed on our listing screen in our iOS buyer app- Work with other leaders within engineering to develop and evolve engineering processes and best practices- Prioritize, scope, plan, develop, and deliver projects at various completion stages or definitions when started. Planning and delivery of your team’s roadmap- Serve as a coach, mentor, and advocate for the engineers on your team.- Participate in the end-to-end recruiting process, hiring, and onboarding exceptional engineering talent- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration and thoughtful delivery on your teams- Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.**Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are**:- 3+ years of experience directly managing engineers - including providing leadership, mentorship, feedback, and investing in their career growth,- You have experience with Native App Development (Swift and Objective-C on iOS or Kotlin and Java on Android) and have delivered Apps at scale.- You have a passion for building data-related products and understand good systems design.- You can make engineering tradeoffs based on problem and context,- You can collaborate effectively with both junior and senior team members.**Additional Information**What's NextIf you're interested in joining the team at Etsy, please share your resume with us and feel free to include a cover letter if you'd like.
