The ETO (Engineered to Order) **_Mechanical Engineer _**will contribute to the design and release of customizations to computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units; will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment; solve complex problems where no precedence exists.**Responsibilities**:- Create customizations of standard computer room air conditioning (CRAC) products as laid out by customer specifications.- Collaborate across the disciplines of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, as well as production and offering teams.- Perform a variety of engineering design verifications using traditional engineering methods and CAD programs.- Develops solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists - the use of ingenuity and creativity is regularly required- Review completed CAD and schematic drafting to verify design intent**Extended Responsibilities**:- Occasional use of CAD software- Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes- Implement product changes to solve field issues, support service department- Basic understanding of thermodynamics.- Strong understanding mechanical and electrical design.- Understanding electrical schematic layout and creation- Work with development scientist to validate setup of new customizations**Basic Requirements**:- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or directly related degree- 3+ years of career experience in an engineering field as an individual contributor- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism- Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market as part of an engineering team- Excellent project management skills and communication skills**Preferred Requirements**:- Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)- Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles- Understanding of manufacturing limitations, formed sheet metal and formed copper tubes- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater**Equal Opportunity Employer
