And if that’s you we would love to have you join us**Job Description**:**Business Intelligence - Data Scientist**Monterrey, Mexico**Position Summary**:The BI Data Scientist reports into the Business Operations Management team for the Power Control Business. As a data scientist, this role will focus on studying big data for opportunities to reduce cost, improve business KPIs, increase profitability, and improve customer loyalty within the business so we can leverage Lean Project Managers to execute on identified opportunities.**Position Functions**:- Utilize the data science process to gather data, scrub/clean the data, look for patterns and trends, predict and forecast, interpret results to put to good use.- Design, build, deliver and maintain world-class reporting for all areas of the business using Power BI.- Model the data, design, and build reports, dashboards and analysis using Power BI, Data Flows, and in some cases and SQL Server or Azure Analysis Services to create custom visualizations and dashboards.- Responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models.- Participates in business and executive meetings to gather requirements and make recommendations reporting/BI solutions.- Translate business needs into high-level technical specifications and design.- Develop deep understanding of the various business processes, data sets and BI deliverables.- Use knowledge of the specific data available, forecasting/analysis methods and visualization capabilities to enhance requirements and provide insightful suggestions to business stakeholders.- Prep, ingest, cleanse, and maintain data in the data warehouse for efficient delivery to Power BI.- Prioritize, deliver, and maintain all Power BI reporting projects in Power Control Business.- Assists in the daily support of end-users’ ability to utilize the reporting platform effectively and efficiently.- Closely work with Enterprise Analytics team to stay up to date with enterprise guidelines and standards.- Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile, and identify gaps, uncover unmet business needs and work with data engineering, solution architect to create a finished solution.**Minimum Qualifications**:- Bachelor’s in data science, computer science, engineering mathematics, business management, or related field.- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business analytics or business intelligence.**Desired Experience**:- Working knowledge of BI and data warehouse concepts and terminology.- Experience building complex reports in Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.- Experience with analytical programming languages such as SQL & Python.- Proficiency with O365 Applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.- Self-motivated and able to work independently.- Capable of prioritizing multiple projects while still achieving deadlines.- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.- Detail-oriented person who is passionate about quality and enthusiastic about new technology.- Prior experience evaluating Big Data to identify cost savings.- Prior experience specifically using Power BI to build complex, interactive reports.- Prior experience publishing Power BI reports to the Power BI service for reporting consumers.Experience with Azure SQL Data Warehouse/Azure Synapse.
