Business growth w/in YFI has created the need to backfill a recently opened Capital Equipment/Assembly Tooling procurement position w/in North America.**Specific requirements**:- This role will manage procurement of production equipment and assembly tooling supporting the YF Interiors Business Unit and operations for US, Canada, and MX.- The selected individual should have completed a minimum of 4-year bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering (or similar), and understand basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and plastic injection molding.- This is a role w/in technical procurement, so someone with a solid technical aptitude or at minimum a strong technical interest.- Typically such a role is filled by Sr. Engineers, buyers, etc with 5-15 years (minimum) experience.**Key Responsibilities**:- Support Interiors and YFAI operations with procurement of capital equipment and assembly tooling for new programs and replacement, rebuild and upgrade of existing production equipment.- As required, support cost estimates of equipment and assembly tooling for new business bids, working with program teams and operations personnel.- Identify and select key suppliers for assembly equipment, and tooling. Key focus will be considering supplier technical and program management capability, competitive pricing, and supplier financial health.- Work with engineers from Operations and program teams to select the optimal production processes for new business.- Prepare and submit Requests For Quote(s) (RFQ), negotiate, source new equipment and assembly tooling.- Support ongoing operations by selecting and sourcing suppliers for equipment refurbishment, rebuild and upgrades.- Comply with YFAI Purchasing policies and procedures, as well as legal & ethical obligations.- Perform supplier development activities and new supplier assessments.- As required, engage and support specific global commodities w/in EU and China.
